Telus Garden Art

This piece was installed on the executive floor in the new Telus Garden building in downtown Vancouver. Turns out morse code and sound waves combine to make some really cool art. All credit for the concept to the artist, Amy Thompson. Hopewell Works took her drawings and produced this piece using waterjet-cut copper, laser-cut acrylic and walnut.

Back layer
Pieced together from laser-cut walnut, the back layer contained a lot of the important construction elements. We installed french cleats using laser-etched guides and laser cut the standoffs for the acrylic through the top layer. Working with Amy and being a part of this Telus Garden project was a fantastic experience.
